VOLTAGE REGULATION IN RURAL NETWORKS WITH DISTRIBUTED GENERATION

The increase in distributed generation (DG) interferes with the energy distribution system, which may present low voltages due to voltage drops and high insertion of generation, resulting from renewable sources rural areas. These levels must be controlled comply limits imposed by rules procedures (PRODIST). This study aims evaluate rise caused DG, simulating three DG scenarios, as well simulate strategies correct these levels, such limitation active power supply, reactive supply consumer utility, installation on-load tap changers. simulations were performed using MATLAB® program, more specifically PSAT toolbox. Correction techniques simulated method, method consumers, regulator process once effect was identified. first two proved ineffective this case, while last one meets required National Electric Energy Agency.
